Reflexology & Premenstrual Syndrome

Terry Oleson, PhD and William Flocco published their study Randomized controlled study of premenstrual symptoms treated with ear, hand, and foot reflexology in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Vol. 82, No. 6, December 1993. Their conclusion was that the "clinical findings support the use of ear, hand, and foot reflexology for the treatment of PMS."

Reflexology and Fertility

Reflexology works to bring homeostasis (the state of equilibrium or balance) to the entire body, working holistically for total body wellness. In unexplained infertility the body may not be ready, physically or mentally, to create a new life. Reflexology may help to bring balance to the endocrine system, which is in charge of hormone production and regulation, and bring about the relaxation response. Infertility is particularly stressful for the woman which can lead to anxiety and depression.
