SUMMARY:Intermediate Reflexology Course - Level Two
DESCRIPTION:Anatomy\, Physiology\, and Pathology for the Reflexology Practitioner\n\nStudy the wonders of the human body\, and how the healing art of reflexology supports each organ\, gland\, system\, and part in this hybrid Zoom and Austin studio practicum course. You’ll enjoy self-paced learning\, live lectures\, self-directed case studies\, and hands-on-feet practicum amongst classmates. \nThis learning unit has three primary components of study: \n\n12 Body Systems on the Reflexology Maps;\nCommon Pathologies and their Areas of Emphasis in Reflexology;\nPractical hands-on-feet with self-directed case studies between practicums.\n\nAnatomy\, Physiology\, and Pathology for Reflexologists is made up of 24 hours of live lectures via Zoom\, 24 hours of self-study\, 32 hours of practicum\, and 40 hours of student-led case studies (practicing on loved ones and neighbors). Coursework is aimed at exploring body systems through a whole-person lens and practicums are designed to help us apply our theoretical understandings of these systems on the reflex maps of the feet. \nWhen: Wednesday\, July 15th\, 2026 through Sunday\, September 13th\, 2026\nWhere: Online and in the Austin\, Texas studio\nRegister: Registration is $960 through the Student Portal\nPrerequisite: Foundations in Reflexology or equivalent ~48 hour coursework \nApplied Reflexology – Body through Respiratory Systems\nThis unit has six lectures covering the following topics: \n\nThe Body – Anatomy and physiology begins with an understanding of the human body in terms that are relatable and easy to understand.\nThe Skeletal System – Bones are the framework of our body house – offering support\, protection\, shape\, and movement\, as well as mineral homeostasis.\nThe Muscular System – Muscles create movement for the bones and joints of the body as well as internal organs like the digestive tract.\nThe Nervous System – The nervous system picks up on what’s happening inside and outside the body and integrates this information to form a response.\nThe Endocrine System – The chemical messaging system of the body regulates many functions ranging from how deep tonight’s sleep will be to how tall you grew.\nThe Respiratory System – Respiration is the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide through inhalation and exhalation.\n\nThese lectures are delivered live via Zoom and are recorded for participants who cannot attend the live lesson. \nZoom lectures are scheduled as follows (all times in Central Time Zone): \n\nWednesday\, July 15th\, 8-10am\nFriday\, July 17th\, 8-10am\nMonday\, July 20th\, 8-10am\nWednesday\, July 22nd\, 8-10am\nMonday\, July 27th\, 8-10am\nWednesday\, July 29th\, 8-10am\n\nFollowing the Zoom lectures are two days of in-person practicum offered in the Austin\, Texas studio. Practicum dates are scheduled as follows (all times in Central Time Zone): \n\nWednesday\, August 5th\, 2026\nThursday\, August 6th\, 2026\n\nDay One:\n\nSOAP Notes – partnering with a classmate\, we’ll practice documenting our observations;\nReflex Location – we’ll put our theoretical lessons into practice by mapping out the muscular and skeletal system reflexology areas on a classmate’s foot;\nNervous System Practice – partnering with a classmate\, we’ll practice a routine for the central and peripheral nervous system reflexes;\nMusculoskeletal Systems Practice – partnering with a classmate\, we’ll practice a routine for the muscular and skeletal system reflexology areas on the feet.\n\nDay Two:\n\nReflex Location – we’ll put our theoretical lessons into practice by mapping out the endocrine\, and respiratory system reflexology areas on a classmate’s foot;\nEndocrine System Practice – partnering with a classmate\, we’ll practice working the endocrine system simultaneously on both feet;\nRespiratory System Practice – partnering with a classmate\, we’ll practice a protocol for the respiratory system reflexology areas on the feet;\nAreas of Emphasis – armed with a ~40 minute enhanced routine we’ll dip our toes into session planning skills to hone in on areas that need a bit more attention than others.\n\nBy the end of our practicum together we’ll have a roughly forty minute foot reflexology routine that can easily be expanded to a full hour. \nApplied Reflexology – Cardiovascular through Special Senses Systems\nTopics for each lecture are as follows: \n\nThe Cardiovascular System – A 6\,000+ mile network of vessels transports nutrients\, oxygen\, hormones\, and waste products like carbon dioxide and cellular waste around the body.\nThe Lymphatic and Immune System – The lymphatic and immune system is part of our body’s built in maintenance that transports fats and fat-soluble vitamins as well as providing a surveillance and defense mechanism against pathogens.\nThe Digestive System – The digestive system is designed to break down food into usable macro and micro nutrients in order to provide fuel for every cell in the body.\nThe Urinary System – Our built-in water treatment facility\, the Urinary System filters the blood and controls pH\, volume\, composition\, and pressure.\nThe Reproductive System – The reproductive system is unique in that it doesn’t come online until puberty and maintains function until midlife when menopause/andropause brings about a decline or halt to proliferative processes in the gonads.\nThe Integumentary System and Special Senses – The skin is the largest organ of the body and is the organ of touch. We’ll also cover sight\, sound\, taste\, and smell.\n\nThese lectures are delivered live via Zoom and are recorded for participants who cannot make the live lesson. \nZoom lectures are scheduled as follows (all times in Central Time Zone): \n\nMonday\, August 17th\, 8-10am\nWednesday\, August 19th\, 8-10am\nMonday\, August 24th\, 8-10am\nWednesday\, August 26th\, 8-10am\nMonday\, August 31st\, 8-10am\nWednesday\, September 2nd\, 8-10am\n\nFollowing the Zoom lectures are two days of in-person practicum offered in the Austin\, Texas studio. \nPracticum dates are schedules as follows (all times in Central Time Zone): \n\nSaturday\, September 12th\, 9am-5pm\nSunday\, September 13th\, 9am-5pm\n\nThey include: \nDay One:\n\nReflex Location – we’ll put our theoretical lessons into practice by mapping out the cardiovascular\, lymphatic\, and digestive system reflexology areas on a classmate’s foot;\nCardiovascular System Practice – partnering with a classmate\, we’ll add to our existing chest region protocols to specifically target reflexology areas for the cardiovascular system;\nLymphatics – partnering with a classmate\, we’ll take some basic measurements of the feet then commence with a lymphatic routine and see if we notice changes in our classmate’s measurements;\nDigestive System Routine – partnering with a classmate\, we’ll follow the natural flow of the gastrointestinal tract\, including input from the accessory digestive organs.\n\nDay Two:\n\nReflex Location – we’ll put our theoretical lessons into practice by mapping out the urinary and reproductive system reflexology areas on a classmate’s foot;\nUrinary System Routine – partnering with a classmate\, we’ll follow a routine for the kidneys\, ureters\, and urinary bladder reflexology areas;\nReproductive System Routine – further enhancing our work from last practicum’s routine for the endocrine system\, we’ll practice routines and client positioning for key reproductive stages of a client’s life;\nSixty Minute Foot Routine – we’ll pull together our new techniques and create a ~60 minute complete foot reflexology protocol with classmates;\nAreas of Emphasis – armed with a ~60 minute complete routine we’ll practice incorporating areas of emphasis.\n\nSnack and lunch breaks are taken indoors and/or outdoors in the garden\, let’s avoid spilling any food or drink in the studio. Participants are encouraged to bring a sack lunch and may utilize the chiller\, microwave\, and toaster oven in the kitchen. \nRegistration\nTo register\, visit the Intermediate Reflexology Course page on our user portal over on Practice Better. Pay the $1\,200 tuition (in one payment or installments). You will receive a confirmation via email (check your spam folder!) and be automatically added to the course. You can use the contact form to send an email if you have questions or schedule a Student Advising via Zoom with Amy. \nRegistration is open to those who have attended our Foundations in Reflexology or  equivalent 48 hours of reflexology coursework.
